The outdoor halls have something for everyone–for city dwellers, outdoor sports enthusiasts, and adventurers alike and for both urban and mountain settings.

The Urban Outdoor trend is still going strong in clothing, footwear, backpacks, bags, and accessories, with versatile products that are perfectly suited both to the wilderness and to the office and evenings out in high demand.

Since ISPO MUNICH 2016, the Outdoor Community has moved into halls A1 to A3, where it provides the perfect link to the adjacent Sportstyle Community in halls B2 and B3.

Everything for Adventurers, Cross-Country Runners, Mountain Climbers, and City Runners

In 2017, the focal point of hall A1 will be outdoor and urban outdoor clothing. Our new corporate social responsibility platform will provide information on sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions and innovations within the sports industry. Here experts will inform you about the latest developments in sustainability as well as which sustainable brands you can meet at the trade fair. In addition to this, you can attend our newly established “office hours” between 14:00 and 16:00 where more information on selected topics will be made available. The focus of these sessions will be on topics such as “communication and events,” “product development,” and “sustainable design.”

Hall A2 will be playing host to Outdoor and Travel as well as the international country associations. The product range includes everything you could possibly need outdoors, featuring travel and camping equipment ranging from tents and sleeping bags to backpacks and accessories like lamps. You will have the chance to meet your favorite exhibitors at the Outdoor and Travel Bar, where you can enjoy refreshing drinks and healthy food in a setting with an authentic outdoor feel. The bar is open every day between 09:00 and 18:00.

The Scandinavian brands are brought together in the “Scandinavian Village.” An extremely popular port of call in this section is the integrated SOG Bar and Lounge–truly the stuff of legend. The “Spanish Village” is organized by the Afydad trade association and gives insights into innovations by well-known Spanish brands, with the Afydad stand at the heart of the village inviting you to network and relax.

In 2017, hall A3 will be focusing on the trends affecting hardware suppliers for climbing, bouldering, backcountry, and ski touring. Head to the central walkway for the “Snow and Safety Summit” with its varied program based around the theme “Ski touring and safety.” There will be short informative talks on the stage every day between 17:00 and 18:00, while the surrounding exhibitors provide information on exciting innovations in the ski touring field.

In the “Vertical Fitness” area, which is also located in hall A3, ambitious climbing companies will be showcasing their latest developments, with applications extending to urban settings. Head to the “Vertical Fitness Bar” to establish valuable business contacts over drinks and snacks, while the exhibitors nearby will be presenting all of the important components for climbing.

The award ceremony for Ski and Outdoor–the highlight premiere–will also be taking place in hall A3. You will be able to find out more about all of the winners of the 2017/2018 ISPO AWARD soon online.

European Outdoor Industry Experiences Consistent Growth

The State of Trade Report for 2014 provided by our longtime partner EOG offers the following statistics: The total market volume increased by 1.4 percent; the market value posted a plus of 1.2 percent. The total market volume in sales to retail was 4.8 billion Euro; the estimated retail trade volume reached around 10.2 billion Euro. It is notable that despite the Russian market slump of about 20 percent, these figures still represent continuing growth. Most European countries experienced a two to three percent growth rate.

And for 2016 the outdoor brands and retailers represented by the EOG are predicting growth in the industry as well: 75 percent are expecting an increase in sales compared to 2015.

The ISPO after-work parties give you an opportunity to exchange ideas, set up business deals, or simply just relax. Held every day between 17:00 and 19:00, these events attract experts from all around the world to the West Atrium between halls A1 and A2. Drinks are free while stocks last, and there is even food and music from a live DJ.

Legendary Scandinavian SOG Bar

The fantastic SOG Bar is located at the heart of the Scandinavian Village in hall A2 and is the place to go to enjoy some Nordic specialties, with thousands of buyers, decision-makers, experts, and journalists flocking here every day. Take up your place by the bar and get ready to discuss the current hot topics–not to mention that this is where the best business deals are often closed.

International Villages to get new Contacts

National and international exhibitors are waiting to welcome you in their special Villages. The Polish, Russian, Spanish and Czech Lounges offer an opportunity to get to know interesting exhibitors. The atmosphere in each lounge is typical for its host country and offers exciting glimpses into other nations’ outdoor cultures.
